As a mature adult, you are experiencing and enduring many things. Perhaps you are investing a good deal of time and effort into raising your family. Or you may be taking care of aging parents. Or perhaps, after many years of career training, education, and challenging work assignments, you find yourself working even harder at your job. Your persistence, hard work, and sacrifices seem to be paying off; you have accomplished many of the goals you set for yourself. By all reasonable standards, others might view you as successful. So, why do you feel depressed? Why do you feel anxious? Why does life seem so burdensome?
I am Dr. Ted Cosse, and I am a post-doctoral therapist in Pasadena at Fuller Psychological and Family Services (FPFS). I have extensive experience working with mature adults – including career professionals – who are suffering. Many adults come to me feeling depressed– they have difficulty sleeping; feel tired, fatigued, trapped, and hopeless; and feel that there must be more to life than they are experiencing. Others present for therapy with symptoms of anxiety– they have many worries; have difficulty controlling their worrying; feel irritable and fatigued; and often have difficulty concentrating. Still others come to counseling with symptoms of both depression and anxiety.
Are you experiencing similar symptoms? If so, through the use of individual psychotherapy, scientific assessment tools, and my past professional experiences, I can help you gain a better understanding of why you feel as you do, with the goal of helping you live a more joyful, abundant life. I look forward to using my experience as a therapist and my 28 years as a professional to help you live a more fulfilling life.
